Dear Gary,
It was good to have you here at lunch yesterday. I really enjoy having a little time to just shoot the breeze or go for a hike. Sorry about your shoes getting all muddy!
I told you yesterday that I would send you a summary of GET THE PICTURE, showing my train of thought in a nutshell. So, here goes:
All people long for love and acceptance. Some people seem to get more than others. And it hurts to be rejected, especially by a member of the opposite sex (GIRLS LIKE YOU). But if you trust God with this, and obey Him, He will provide all your earthly needs as He sees best, for many of those earthly longings are hints from God at the things we were created to hunger for and be satisfied by in Heaven (ALL I WANT).
If you don’t trust God, and insist on fending for yourself, you will fall for, or deliberately settle for counterfeits (ANYTHING BUT LOVE, A FOOL’S CONDITION), and find yourself going down a path that leade to bigger and bigger problems. (BREAK THE BIG ONE)
So wait for God to show you the best way. And when He gives you anything (SOMEONE TO TRUST), cherish it and protect it with all your soul. To reject it is a tradgedy and an insult to God. (HOW COULD YOU THROW IT ALL AWAY?)
When you have the advantage of God’s guidance, you won’t need to take groundless oritiolam seriously (PUT ME DOWN) or become cold and emotionless (THE FEELING PART).
It you wish not to belleve in God at all because He see be too intangible, be careful what you hear and see, for God can be most unscrupulous when it comes to winning hearts (WATCH OVER YOUR HEART).
And finally, if you are a bellever, be open to expressions of faith which are unfamiliar to you. Learn to value sincerity rather than mode of expresaion (TRUE CONFESSION).
I'll send you the inside credits as soon as Barry has had a chance to see them. You and Sheri are still invited for dinner, and you really ought to come while the hills are green in Ojai!
See you soon!
